Handmade ceramics and art

Keramikkgården is a small business consisting of myself and a diligent little pottery kiln. Here it is tried and failed (and even succeeds at times) with the hope that this may be to the liking of some of you out there. I also spend a lot of time on art and other creative work. You can find some of my pictures here in the online store.

  • The process

The process from lump of clay to finished product takes some time. First, for example, the cup is shaped by hand, then it must dry for a week. It is then burned once, called raw fire. In the next step, it is brushed with 3 layers of glaze and possibly cut-outs or other patterns are made, then it is fired again. Due to the high temperatures, it may crack, but this rarely happens. In other words, it takes 2-3 weeks from clay until a cup is ready.

  • Stoneware clay

I make everything from scratch in stoneware clay. It is a clay that is fired at an extra high temperature in the ceramic kiln, so that the products become hard and can also withstand the dishwasher.
